AAN Training For Coaches

When Your Client Understands but Still Feels Stuck

Being stuck does not define a person.

From an Advanced Applied Neuroscience (AAN) perspective, people can struggle to change for various reasons. One of AAN's primary areas of focus is rewiring deeply learned emotional response patterns to emotional discomfort.

Why?

Because when your coaching clients understand their behavior and have explored their beliefs, values, and assumptions, but still feel stuck, it may be time to look at this deeper layer of transformation.

And because although these emotional patterns may not be the original cause of a client's behavior in the moment, they can play an important role in why that behavior is so difficult to change.

The Underlying Layer AAN Adds

Advanced Applied Neuroscience (AAN) helps experienced executive and life coaches recognize and work with deeply learned emotional patterns that can interfere with changes their clients genuinely want to make.

These patterns are not always obvious. They can appear as avoidance, overthinking, controlling behavior, indecision, or difficulty following through.

AAN brings together neuroscience principles related to learning, prediction, threat, emotion, and memory to help coaches recognize when an underlying emotional pattern may be contributing to a client's difficulties, and how to support clients in unlearning and relearning those patterns to facilitate transformation.

AAN doesn't replace established coaching approaches. It builds on an existing level of coaching mastery, adding another layer of expertise when that layer is relevant.

“Clients have created freedom from entrenched behavior patterns such as self judgment, micro managing, people pleasing, indecision, perfectionism, self suppression, workaholism, and more.”

Storytelling as a Transformation Tool

Stories are one of the methods AAN uses to support transformation.

Clients already bring stories into the coaching space. AAN teaches you to use stories more intentionally to turn them into a powerful transformation engine.

Rather than using stories only to illustrate an idea or inspire insight, AAN uses them to create opportunities to practice emotional learning. With repetition and carefully targeted choice-based learning, new responses can become more available when real-life challenges arise.
