AAN for Self Growth
When Old Patterns Get Between You and Who You Want to Be
Perhaps you know the feeling.
You want to speak more honestly, but find yourself softening your opinions. You want to give someone more independence, but keep taking control. You want to set boundaries, but the thought of disappointing someone makes it difficult to follow through.
You know the version of yourself you want to access is already there, because you've acted in alignment with it before. Yet when a challenging moment arrives, old reactions can still take over.

Changing Behavior Isn't Always Transformation
Changing your behavior makes a difference. But sometimes, the emotional pattern underneath remains.
When that happens, you may try to use awareness to react in a way that is aligned with who you want to be, but maintaining that level of awareness can be exhausting, and as soon as a difficult moment comes along, a deep emotional pattern may react faster than your awareness and get between you and who you want to be.
Transformation becomes possible when we change that deeper pattern too, so you can align with the best version of yourself without having to fight a draining internal battle.
"Longstanding patterns that previously required significant effort began dissolving.”

What Transformation Can Feel Like
In addition to focusing on how you want to change a behavior, Advanced Applied Neuroscience asks: "What is stopping you from changing that behavior?"
Not every difficult challenge we face has the same underlying cause. Sometimes we need new skills, a change in our circumstances, or a more effective plan. Other times, trying to change a behavior will be difficult because a deeper, learned emotional response is getting in the way.
We created a free guide to help you explore what's keeping things you want to change stuck. This Second Look at What's Holding You Back can help you identify if a deeper pattern is getting in the way, and what kind of support may allow you to move forward.
What's Really Keeping You Stuck?
Why Storytelling?
Understanding your deep emotional patterns is an important beginning, but insight and awareness alone may not change them.
Advanced Applied Neuroscience (AAN) uses intentional storytelling, and other neuroscience-based techniques, to create opportunities for emotional learning.
By practicing emotional choice through various experiences, we can prepare the emotional systems in the brain so different responses become more accessible when real-life difficult moments arrive.
